Melinda Sordino

Melinda is desperate to be reunited with her old friends. She has become quiet and withdrawn at school. She no longer cares about her grades. At this point in the story, what advice would you give Melinda? What should she do?

  1. I would tell Melinda to at least try to pick up the pieces of her life and attempt to put them back together...it might help a little bit. I also think she should tell someone - like a counselor - what happened to her, so she doesn't keep bottling up her emotions. She should also persist in at least trying to have a conversation with her old friends, or maybe even take up a sport to reduce emotion and meet new people.

  2. I would tell Melinda that she should try to get her grades up somehow. She should care about her grades they are important if she ruins them now it can affect her in the future some way or another. Some good advice would be to try to make new friends as much as posible or as much as your comfort level will go. She should try to be more involved in school so she can try her best.

  3. I would tell her that she needs to tell someone and get it off her chest. She should really start caring about her grades or she will end up working at McDonalds for a long time. I would also tell her to try to talk to her old friends (maybe not Rachel/Rachelle) but someone like Ivy, who wanted to talk to her, but was scared she would be seen and excluded.

  4. I would tell Melinda to that as long as she's holding that BIG secret in its only going to make her feel worse about everything. For example; when Mel first started school she had her head high she kind of excited until she got on the bus, and she kind of gave up. She distanced herself from others. Instead of that she should had at least tried talking to someone about what happened because that is source of why she doesn't care anymore. It will only get better from that point on.

  5. I would tell melinda that she shouldnt be held back by her old friends. She should keep doing well in class and stop getting in trouble. She might still be held back by what happened at the party, and who wouldnt. She is going through a tough time, but its good that she finally told someone about it.
