A major turning point occurs in Chapter 12 when Ishmael is captured. He is captured by the government, and not the rebels. He isn't technically forced to fight, however his other choice is sure death. What is your reaction to Ishmael's choice to fight?
I wasn't surprised. If I were him I would defiantly fight, because there is a better change of living when you're at a camp and they teach you how to fight. I think Ishmael made the right decision. It even said that the man who didn't fight and left died right away, so Ishmael would have died too.
