"French Lessons"

This was tough story to get through, I know! What are some of the character traits you see in the main character?

  1. I think that the main character has a couple strong traits. A big one is his pride. He doens't want to take anything from the teacher person. Another one is his persistency. He sucks at the games at first, but he eventually gets better. Eventually.

  2. The main charater, (name ever announced??), seems to be a very determinned child, and almost a perfectionist because he always tried to win. To make himself better, so he could buy milk for himself.

  3. I think that the main character has a couple of strong traits, but one that stands out for me the most is his determination. Like Briese21 said, he sucks at the game but tries to get better because he knows that he needs it to get milk.

  4. One of the traits that I found right away was lonely, and homesick. I think these were traits because the main character said, " While she was there I braced myself and didn't complain or cry, but when she was about to leave, I lost control and ran bawling after the truck".(43) Another trait I discovered was headstrong. For example, the main character kept repeating that Vadik had cheated and flipped the coin. Even though Vadik and his pals threatened to beat him up, and finally did when he kept saying that he cheated, he still repeated that Vadik had cheated.

  5. The main character has a lot of strong traits...one of them is his stubborness, he wouldn't take Lidia's food without her begging or her money without winning the game fair and square. Another thing is that he is brave, even though he got beat up when he was playing with Birdy and Vadhik he came back because that's what he thought he had to do. Another quality is that he independent. He is eleven and living on his own and he does what he has to do by any means. He's also smart, he learned a new language because he pushed hiself.
