Ilunga's Pride
When Mikel first meets Ilunga, he seemed to be a true warrier -stepping out into Mikel's path in all of his splendor. Later, the village thinks Ilunga is embarrassing himself by picking up garbage at the market - something the dogs and goats do. Do you think there are things people shouldn't do - jobs that are belittling or do you think honest work is simply honest work?

I think that it was ok to do this since he would make up for it later by having a lot of fish.
ReplyDeleteoverall yeah a hard days work puts bread on the table sometimes you just got to swallow your pride and get it done.
ReplyDeleteI think that if you do something embarassing but you think its for a good cause and you really want to do it I think it's ok.
ReplyDeleteI that you have to just do what has to be done even if you look like a complete fool doing it.
ReplyDeleteI think that whatever feeds you and your family if okay. If you have to scrap garbag off of the cans with your bare hands, and it pays well that that is okay.
ReplyDeleteEven though he is wrestling food away from goats and dogs he did it to help his village and his family.
ReplyDeleteAt least he's not picking it up and eating it, that would be wrong. They should all know it's not going to him but the fish.
ReplyDeleteYes there is things people should and shouldn't do like asking for food or money. I think honest work is honest work but when someone asks you for food its not really polite of them.
ReplyDeleteI belive that ilunga did what he needed to do to feed his fish so I think that its okay.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter what little a job is as long as they have a pay off and you can live off what you get.
ReplyDeleteI think that if it helps you survive, then it shouldn't matter if it is embarassing. You have to do, what you have to do.
ReplyDeleteIt shouldn't matter how the job is. As long as there's food on the table and enough to keep you or you and your family living then there should be nothing to be complaining about.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it doesn't matter how little or embarrassing the job is, as long as you get the stuff you need for yourself and/or family, you should be fine.
ReplyDeleteI think that if the hard work pays off, its worth it. Even if you make a complete fool of yourself, its honest work and it is helping you and/or other people.
ReplyDeleteI think that everybody should do little jobs, beecause aall jobs are important. If Ilunga didn't clean the market it would be all dirty and then no one would want to go there.
ReplyDeleteI think that a person has to do what a person has to do. He was trying to get the love of his life back, and people need to understand that.
ReplyDeleteI think it shouldnt matter what your job is. If your happy with what your doing and you have food on the table, your making an honest living.
ReplyDeleteI think that if you are high up in something you should try to keep your composure. If you are doing something like trying to get scraps from the ground people might get worried or scared
