"End of Skill" ending

After finishing "End of Skill," do you think Jimmy will return to his old ways, or will he reform after seeing his father hurt so deeply? Explain what you think and what evidence you have that supports your answer.

  1. I think that Jimmy will find a balance of modern uses and traditional ways. Jimmy won't forget the hurt of his father and he won't stop weaving, so he will have to find the place in the middle.

  2. I think Jimmy will think that his relationship with his father is dead so he will return to his old ways. Evidence is that it is natural human behavior about escaping your troubles and avoiding whatever makes them think about it.

  4. I think jimmy will accept his ways of life and culture and he'll use kente the right way.

  5. I think he will change his way. I think that because he knows how offended his father was by not selling kente to people who would use it properly. I know that Jimmy respects his father so I think he would change his ways.

  6. I think Jimmy will be a bit more respectful of his father's desire. He will probably still allow the cheap machine stamped items, but won't sell the actual Kente to people who won't respect it.

  7. I think that Jimmy will try to do it his old ways but try to respect his father more like telling what the kente is traditionally for to his consumers.

  8. I think that Jimmy would change so that his father would be proud of him and wouldn't be hurting as much anymore. He might change for his father and learn to respect all the traditions they have and everything that means a lot to there culture and he'll learn to know how much they meant to his father.

  10. I think that Jimmy will return to his old way, but he won't forget the hurt on his father's face when he told him about the ambassador's use of the Kente cloth. I agree with Becky. I think that Jimmy will continue to weave and sell to the people that use the Kente cloth in a bad way. But I also think that Jimmy will keep most of his business in his village and not sell SO MUCH to the people who use it poorly.

  11. I think that Jimmy will go back to his old ways, because he started doing it so he could give money to his father, and if it wasn't for that, his father wouldn't have gotten the surgery; but i think that he will remember that his father was hurt by the way the ambassador had used the Kente cloth.

  12. I think Jimmy will respect his culture, and go back to the traditional ways of kente. He saw how hurt his dad was when he found out he was selling it to people who were using it improperly. I think it hurt Jimmy seeing his dad that upset, that he will now use it in the right way.

  13. I think Jimmy is smart enough to find a good medium. Maybe by selling only to people who not only have an appreciation, but love it. He could also not make items that could be used poorly.

  14. I dont think Jimmy will stop. He hurt his father once when he told him he did not want to be a kente sower. Then made him happy by being in the kente business. Then hurt his father by not using the cloth right. I don't think he will ever stop.

  15. I think that Jimmy will go back to his old ways because he was making good money, and didn't like what his father was doing with the Kente.

  16. I think that Jimmy will find the right balance between making money, and treating kente correctly. He respects his father and loves him, so he doesn't like to see him sad.

  17. I think Jimmy will stop selling the kente cloth to people that don't respect it. After Jimmy made his father cry I think that he understood how much his father love the kente cloth.

  18. I think that Jimmy will stop what he had been doing previously, and go back to the ways his father approved. I don't think he can live with his father in misery.

  19. I think Jimmy will change because he realized that he disrespected his father in a way it can't be forgotten. His father won't think of him the same way again. His was disappointed in him when he figured out he betrayed his beliefs.

  20. I think that Jimmy will keep selling the cloth the way he did before, but also treat it with better respect. After seeing how hurt his father was, I think that Jimmy will appreciate the kente cloth more. But I predict that he will keep selling it because he knew that the cloth made him a lot of money, and lots of people were interested in it.

  21. I think that Jimmy will continue to sell the cloth to help himself become more popular. I also think he will continue to sell the cloth to make more money although I think he will use both of the things he gains in a way that will not make him seem greedy.

  22. I think jimmy boy will keep doing this but,I think his father will not help him do the pieces of kente cloth anymore.

  23. I think Jimmy will respect the cloth and his culture and only sell it to people who actually realize what the cloth means to his culture.

  24. I think Jimmy will follow his heart and do Kente correctly. He may see his father hurt, but he knows that it's the right thing to do. He will sell it to people who are truly worthy and understand how much he loves it and how much it means to him.
