women's business

Upon the return of the girls, the aboriginal women are heard singing in the bush. The men at the posting station call this "women's business." Explain this. What is meant by "women's business?" And how does it help the girls get home?

  1. I think that the "women's business" was that the women were praying for the safe arrival of Molly and Daisy. I think that it helped the girls get home safely because they just knew that they had to follow the singing and then they would be safe.

  2. I think that women's buisness is singing and praying. In the movie they were singing as a group and when Molly and Daisy heard the voices singing the songs and prayers they knew that they were almost home and it gave them the strength to keep going and they finally made it home.

  4. I think it was called that is because the women were praying for the safe arrival of the girls. The reason it helps them because it's dark out and the girls can use their ears to listen and find them.

  5. I think that the "woman's business" was them praying for the girls to return home to them. It helps the girls because in their hearts they knew their mom and grandma were praying for them and they followed their heart, and the singing of the women.

  8. He dismissed it as some poinless ritual by the women, so this kept the cop out of their business. Because the cop didn't care what they were doing, the girls were able to safely come home to their mothers.

  9. I think the "women's business", was the women praying for the kids to get home safety, but the white men just thought it was some sort of ritual that they did, and that it was pointless. I think it helped the girls get home, because they knew that it was the aboriginal women, so they just had to follow the sound of their voices, and then they would be safely home.

  11. I think that the "woman's business" is a way of telling the truth, and not making a huge deal of the singing so the cop wouldn't go and investigate. The girls are able to hear the singing and praying to get safely home.

  12. I think the "women's business" is the praying for the girls to come back home safely. The noise of the praying helps the girls get home because they could hear the noise with their ears and follow in that direction.

  15. I think when they say "womens business" is the praying for Molly and her cousins to get homw. To me i think the men at the posting station know something is going on but they don't want to rat the women out.
