The "tracker" at the camp is the father of one of the girls there. He wants to return to his home, but is told by Mr. Neville that he may not. He says he must remain for another "year or so." What are your thoughts about him tracking down runaways? Do you feel this is "traitor-like"?
I don't like that he went to go track runaways when he was trying to get his own daughter OUT of the camp. What would he do if his daughter ran away from camp? Would he track her down and bring her back? I just don't think that it is fair that he will do that to poor girls that just want to return to their family.
ReplyDeleteHe is trying to return to his famiy but he's kinda being a traitor by tracking down girls that want to see their family. I would track down the girls if I were him so I can see my family too.
ReplyDeleteHe has very little choice in what he is doing, but there is a line between "just doing your job" and betraying your society.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think this is "traitor like" because the only reason he's doing it is to save his daughter from having to spend another day there even if he has to put other daughters through it.

ReplyDeleteI think that the tracker is being somewhat "traitor like". He probably could get away from his job and what he's doing, but hes just too afraid. I think that it is also betraying his daughter. She has to see her father bringing in more girls to the camp when he knows it is wrong. His daughter seems like she is giving up on him.

ReplyDeleteI do not think that the tracker is a trader because the only reason he is doing that stuff is because he wants to see his daughter. When he was trying to track Molly and the others he smiled because they out smarted him. That shows that he is not a trader.
