Rabbit Proof Fence

The officer sent to pick up the girls when they make it home, goes to check out the "women's business" in the bush. He is intimidated my Molly's mother. How does she intimidate him without threats, without words, and while he is carrying a gun?

  1. I think that because she was silent and emotionless when she hefted the stick onto her shoulder and aimed it at him it intiminated him more then anything. Because he was nervous in the first place the silent approch of Molly's mother wielding the stick frightens him even more then it normally would.

  2. It's a home feild advantage. The women knew the land so much better, and could have had others ready to attack. Also, sometimes actions are so much clearer than words. She was fierce and calm, ready to do what she needed to, and that sends a message.

  3. She slowly walked closer to him without any words, actions, or emotions and was just serious throughout the whole act which probably made him feel scared that she might do something to him because of how serious she was towards him when she saw him.

  7. I think that he was intimidated by her because she thought she was dangerous and would hurt him when she was harmless. She showed signs of cofidence and he was nervous in the first place and she made him even more nervous.

  8. She walked up to him without talking to him, without any emotions and raises a spear kind of thing right in his face. She kept walking closer to him, which intimidated him more.

  9. I think she intimidated him because she showed no emotion so he couldn't tell if she was scared, nervous, confident, or if she was planning on killing him or something. He didn't seem too confident himself.
